Coopersville is nestled between the cultural activities of Grand Rapids and the natural beauty of the Grand Haven and Muskegon lakeshore.   This small city has retained the charm and friendliness of small town America while growing to meet the ever-changing needs of her community.

Our small town charm includes a healthy economy ranging from the agricultural to high tech manufacturing facilities and a growing service and retail businesses.  The Coopersville Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to "Enhancing the Community by Building Better Businesses".   We work hand in hand with the Coopersville Downtown Development Authority (DDA), City of Coopersville, and many additional organizations to continue logical and vibrant growth of the community while protecting the integrity of our rich heritage.

The local cultural climate thrives with an outstanding array of programming coordinated through the Coopersville Farm Museum, the Coopersville Area Historical Society Museum & Del Shannon Memorial, Coopersville & Marne Railway and the Coopersville Area Arts Council.  Two annual festivals, Summerfest, featuring the Del Shannon Car Show and the Outhouse 500 have received much regional and even national acclaim.

Outstanding educational programs are available at our Blue Ribbon Award Winning Coopersville Public School system along with several quality parochial schools in the area.  Our community is centrally located near many higher education facilities, Grand Valley State University, Hope College, Calvin College, as well as the new Michigan State University medical program in Grand Rapids to name but a few.  Local community college programs are available in both Muskegon and Grand Rapids.

Our chamber staff and volunteer board members are eager to assist you as you look to Live, Work, or Play here. Please do not hesitate to contact us for additional information.

& "Runaway" Guitar Auction Preview

Thursday, July 23

5 - 7 p.m.

Perennial Park

Historic Downtown Coopersville

Join fellow members of the chamber and the community as we unveil 14 beautifully decorated custom-made park benches and a custom-built guitar.  Light refreshments will be served and musical entertainment from local musician Dave Wickstrom.

Local artists have decorated custom-made benches made by master craftsman Tim Hazelhuhn to be auctioned off on Friday, August 7th prior to the Summerfest Concerts & 3-D Fireworks at Coopersville High School.

John Hildreth, owner of Bitterroot Guitars in Dorr MI has donated a custom-built electric guitar to the Chamber for auction - also on August 7th.  This is a one of a kind design, valued at approximately $2,000.  The chamber conducted a naming of the guitar contest and the winning name is "Runaway", submitted by Connie Schafenaar!  The person with the winning bid for "Runaway" will be able to work with John directly to tune the guitar to specific needs.

Proceeds from both of these auctions will benefit the programming of the Coopersville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Del Shannon Memorial Scholarship Fund.
